Pastoral Ministries

These ministries are referred to as the "Pastoral Ministries" because they assist the Pastor of the Parish in providing healing and support to people in need.

If you are interested in joining one of these ministries or simply want to learn more about them, contact the parish office.

This ministry provides the family and friends of deceased members of our parish an opportunity to gather for a meal and fellowship after the funeral or memorial service. Volunteers bring food prepared at home, work in the kitchen, and/or help with the set up before and the cleanup afterward. Open to adults.

These volunteers are Eucharistic Ministers who are specially commissioned by the Pastor to visit and bring Communion to homebound parishioners and others in local retirement centers and/or nursing homes. Volunteers may be paired with another to perform this ministry. A criminal background check is required. Training is provided. Open to adults.

In this pastoral ministry, home-made prayer shawls, stoles, and lap robes (hand knitted or crocheted) are created during periods of prayer and given to individuals who face long-term illness. Blessed by the pastor, the shawls are powerful reminders of the prayers of the supportive community in the church.  Volunteers make and deliver the shawls, along with prayers and good wishes. While most of the work is done at home, volunteers in this ministry meet monthly to pray and work together.

Parishioners gather after Mass every Wednesday morning to pray before the Blessed Sacrament during a Weekly Holy Hour. In this way they support the mission of the entire Church as well as the ministries in our parish.  The hour of prayer closes with the celebration of Benediction.
Also, our prayer chapel is open 24 hours a day. The entry code is obtained through the Parish Office.

These volunteers provide valued support to our parishioners when loved ones, friends, and co-workers are in need of prayer to help them through a time of need. If you volunteer for this ministry, you will regularly receive a list of intentions for your prayer. Open to all.

The volunteer Tribunal Advocate assists individuals as they petition the Church for the annulment of previous marriages, freeing them to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage in the future. Requires intensive and specialized training through the Archdiocesan Tribunal Office.

This ministry’s refreshing “whole person” vision of health (body, mind, and spirit) gives these volunteers a unique approach to health-related issues in the parish. They serve the parish as educators, advocates, consultants and facilitators in the healing mission of our faith community.   Open to all adults. Medical background a plus, but not required.

Help provide warm hats to babies leaving the hospital, to clients of the Food Bank, to individuals being released from the Detention Center, and to many others in need. Over three thousand hats have been provided sincie the beginning of this ministry in 2015.
